T Minus 17. The Countdown continues...

Staff's picture

We’re a long way from organised, but we’ve got enough great activities shaping up now to feel pretty confident the Amphitheatre will be good and busy!

Artrageous and Loose Play from the Children’s Scrapstore, together with the Creation Station will all be providing creative opportunities with Scrap. On that note, we’d love to hear from artists who’d like to get involved in creating a live wall of illustration wrapped around the podium which will capture what makes people happy and gives them a sense of well-being as the event goes on.  We’ll have happiness ambassadors asking people what they think and our fabulous film crew will capture what’s going on to create a time lapse film.

Other things that look promising are book-making and story-telling activities with Vala publishing, and something special with Seed of Peace, which we’ll tell you more about later.  By coincidence, Sit in Peace walked into our office to spread a little calm amongst the mayhem just after we’d spoken to Seed of Peace, and there’s a wonderful energy brewing around ideas of Restorative Justice.

We’re really grateful to AJ Wyatt Animal Feeds & Supplies from Bishop Sutton, who’ve donated a dozen straw bales – and we’d LOVE to hear from anyone who can help with the supply of marquees or tents that we can use on hard-standing...

That’s all for now – 16 days to go.
