Introducing: Campaign #InvestInHappy
We all know that 2016 was tough.
Record-hot temperatures, Trump’s election victory, continued austerity and 50% increase in hate crime towards ethnic minorities and immigrant communities. A new wave of fear and division has hit the UK, and the Global North.
The system continues to demand endless growth and profit. The stuff that makes us truly happy continues to be undervalued and ignored.
But there’s hope!
Rethinking ‘Investment’, ‘Value’ and ‘Prosperity’
We’ll be inviting people to rethink ideas like investment, value, prosperity and growth.
How do you invest your time? What do you profit from? What do you really value? What are we growing with our money? How can we build social capital and natural reserves?
A national conversation
#InvestInHappy Campaign will facilitate a national conversation about what really drives wellbeing and happiness.
Each conversation will be tailored to provoke action; we are not a talking shop. As part of the campaign, we will:
- Start Twitter storms and UK-wide conversations about wellbeing on social media
- Run 200 of community workshops and events to boost happiness and resilience across the UK
- Support 400 workplaces to understand and support staff and community wellbeing
- Push hard for wellbeing to be taken seriously by local and national governments, and provide policymakers with the practical tools to measure, value and prioritise more than money and growth.
