We are surrounded by images - on every street, in every home, on the screens of our schools and offices.  They are all 'selling' happiness, but almost always via something you must buy - the latest fashion, food, music, beauty treatment... You'll always be happier WHEN you've been a good consumer....

Well the Happy Street Gallery is here to start to turn that around.  It is a rolling people's exhibition all about the things that really make people happy, what makes a positive difference in peoples lives every day.

This autumn you'll be able to upload and download images made by ordinary people - from professional artists to school children, from office workers to dancers, and gardeners to lawyers.  Yes YOU!  Create an image that you think will inspire people, make them think, or simply make them happy.  What are your ingredients for Happiness and how could you share that in a drawing, painting, logo, sculpture, mosaic, embroidery or street art?  Make the image, take a picture of it and share it here....

That's when the 'peoples' bit comes in.  We don't have to wait for a gallery to agree or funders to approve - the images will be available for everyone to browse, download and print out their own poster.  As they then display them in their window, their shop, office, school, church, community centre or sports hall the people's gallery will come alive.  Our communities will start to be filled with images about hope, compassion, giving, learning, loving, sharing, appreciating and fun.

While you are waiting for the big launch, get out your art materials, start making your images.
