Happy City in partnership with Plastic Buddha Productions has set up a Participatory Community Film Facility, providing film training to community groups across Bristol.  Community Voice is working towards creating a wider resource bank of professional film makers, journalists, photographers and writers to support local people to learn the skills to get their voice heard, and tell their story of positive change to the world. 

With an award from the Big Lottery Awards for All fund, we're piloting this project with fifteen community projects in Bristol who inspired us with the work they are doing to make their city a happier place for all.  See some of their finished films on our YouTube channel.  The projects so far range from food to transport, swimming to cycling, refugees to mental health.  We are still seeking applications for later rounds of the programme so for more information download our leaflet here or the application form here.

The legacy of the HAPPY CITY COMMUNITY VOICE project will be a bank of inspiring films about what is happening, often unseen, in every corner of the city, as well as skilled people in numerous grassroots organizations able to tell their stories and train those around them to do the same.  PLUS an ongoing community resource of easy to use media technology, backed by the technical and creative support that a community needs as it starts to find its voice.
