The Happiness Bank

THIS IS THE PLACE TO FIND OR SHARE SOLUTIONS.

There is so much that works in communities across every city. The answer to a problem may lie in one community and another area will be struggling along without knowing what that solution is. We lose the learning from what works when we focus only on what doesn't and who to blame for it. The Happiness Bank is full of proven solutions to those problems with ideas, tips, and know-how direct from the people who've done it.

The Happiness bank is about sharing learning, top tips, short cuts, knowledge and resources. It’s crammed with all sorts of things that are increasing happiness in your street, neighbourhood and city. From art or music, to activities for young and old, projects and ideas to improve our environment, culture and communities, to one off acts of kindness we could all do more of. If it makes a positive change we want you to shout about it here.

At the heart of every Free Cakes for Kids group are individual birthday cakes.  Put simply, a Free Cakes for Kids group matches two parties: amateur bakers and families in need.  Families contact the group either directly by phone or are referred by  a partner  organisation, such as the Young  Carers, the local Foodbank, or a children’s centre.  The cakes are then prepared by volunteers in their private kitchens and are decorated with the child’s favourite  theme.
