Celebrate Bristol Independents Day today!

Liz Zeidler's picture

If  happiness is found in thinking global and acting local then Bristol Independents Day is set to be a great day.  It’s a opportunity to celebrate the thriving local, independent businesses throughout the city, bringing diversity and vitality to our local neighbourhoods.  Bristol Independents Day is a great excuse to try out some new-to-you independent shops, cafes, pubs or market stalls - maybe in a part of town that you're also unfamiliar with.

EASTON HAPPYFEST

The Happy City Crew were welcomed into the heart of the Easton area of North Bristol in Autumn 2010 for the first of our Happy City Local Festivals.  As we spent time exploring the area with local volunteers, the number of inspiring projects we found was incredible.  The place is teaming with people and projects that are supporting community happiness in hundreds of different ways.  There is so much to be learned, shared and celebrated that it was hard to limit it to a series of events for our roadshow festival.

Local Community Engagement

After 2 successful roadshows in Easton and Knowle West  – we are up for bringing the HappyFest to YOUR area. Are you passionate about making a difference in your neighbourhood? Do you have a can do attitude and a hunger for meeting local people and celebrating what’s working? Do you have lots of local contacts or are you keen to get to know much more about where you live?

Projects

Happy City has a range of projects happening or in the pipeline. Plans are being formed, volunteers gathered, partners brought on board and funding sought. For an overview of where things have got to see our Annual Report 2011 here. For more information on our projects click on the individual project tabs.
