In 2016 Happy City produced The Little Book of AWE, in partnership with Bristol Ageing Better and some of its 160 partner groups. The book is an adaptation of our 5 Ways to Wellbeing materials, and aims to support the over 50s to Age Well Everyday.
The book was co-created with a wide range of older people across Bristol’s diverse communities, and brings the 5 Ways to Wellbeing to life for this age group. The process included the privilege of exploring with older people in Bristol the different ways they already find happiness and take care of their wellbeing. We heard about some amazingly simple and creative approaches. For example one 98 year old Bristol resident told us, “My secret to a happy long life is simple. At the end of each day I ask myself, what have I done today to make a difference?”
